In the current business landscape, organisations now emphasise “soft skills” as the primary factor when deciding between two technically qualified candidates. The World Economic Forum’s ‘Future of Jobs’ report suggested that by 2025, complex Problem-Solving, Critical Thinking, Creativity, People Management and Emotional Intelligence will be among the essential skills required in the workplace.

Whilst technical skills are crucial, soft skills in the workplace enable organisations to harness employees’ talents and knowledge more effectively and efficiently without being hampered by interpersonal issues. Soft skills also drive positive changes through excellent communication amongst peers and business leaders, improve decision-making through active listening and ultimately drive business growth and increase revenue.

Redwire Marketing Group recognised the need to give attention to employees’ soft skills to complement the existing technical competencies. We created a robust, easy-to-use, easy-to-like digital learning solution embedded with over 400 self-paced courses addressing Effective Communication, Teamwork, Time Management, Clear and Concise Writing and many more.

With the adoption of the Intelligent state-of-the-art learning platform, Redwire has been able to administer training to the entire workforce across various locations, efficiently warehouse institutional content and create learning paths to assist in measuring advancement.

Furthermore, the learning platform has been used to generate customisable reports which provide insights into employees’ performance, create unlimited sub-accounts in line with the firm’s structure and manage them from one central location. In addition, the embedded quiz, test, assignment, and survey features have been used to evaluate employees’ knowledge, while customised certificates are issued to employees after course completion.

Branded as the Redwire Knowledge Zone, the learning platform has encouraged healthy employee competition. Employees are awarded points based on configured metrics using the gamified leaderboard feature. Employees can also share ideas, seek clarification with the learning group feature, and access various learning assets on their mobile devices.

In Q3 2022, the learning platform administrators recorded 108-course completions, 472 badges gained and 233 learning hours by employees.

Here are comments from some employees who have actively engaged with the platform;

  • The platform is user-friendly and contains various informative, educative, verifiable, and captivating content that any user would easily comprehend.
  • The use of ‘Points’, ‘Levels’ and ‘Badges’ to reward users learning milestones and achievements creates an avenue for competitiveness amongst users, making it enjoyable to use.
  • The courses are in bite sizes, making it easier to grasp the concept and get rewarded quickly.
  • I like the variety of courses and how broad they are. I also enjoy the gamification element – it keeps me engaged when drifting.
